Google Calendar now lets users specify where they’re working from throughout the day

Since 2021, Google has allowed users to set their working location for specific days of the week. Now, users can also set their working location for specified hours of the day. According to the company, the new functionality will be useful for individuals who labor from multiple locations, such as their residence, an office, a particular structure, or a combination of these.

For example, you may indicate on your calendar that you will be working from home in the morning and at the office in the afternoon. The function should make it simpler for your colleagues to determine where you are working at any given moment in case they need to contact you or schedule a meeting with you.

Users can now designate their working location by selecting “Working Location” as an event type in their calendar and selecting a location. You can modify the date, time, or occurrence frequency by selecting the time element.

The following membership tiers have access to the new feature: Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Basics, Education Standard, Education Plus, Teaching and Learning Upgrade, and Nonprofits.
